Floral paintings and works on paper exploring memory, vulnerability, and the fleeting nature of presence.

Fragile Devotions develops an inquiry that began with Oleg Char’s cherry blossom paintings: how to hold presence and impermanence within the same image. Flowers become carriers of memory, longing, grief, vitality, and devotion. Their beauty is inseparable from the knowledge that their forms will change.
Different flowers lead to different approaches. Peonies emerge through layers of paint, atmosphere, and restraint. Sunflowers move between painting and, in selected works, hand-pulled silkscreen, where repetition, drips, and imperfect registration bring the mechanical and the handmade into contact. Across the series, recognizable forms shift toward abstraction and back again.
These works do not attempt to arrest change. They attend to the brief moment in which a form is fully present while already beginning to become something else.
New pieces in Fragile Devotions are shared quietly. Join the list to hear first when a work is released or a held piece becomes available.
